Theatre inspections
The CST ensures that the AFNOR “dimensional characteristics of cinemas” standard is applied; it defines the rules - especially architectural rules - that cinema owners must observe to guarantee a minimum level of comfort to its spectators. The CST also carries out inspections on projection equipment in cinemas.
These expert appraisals are mostly done at the request of the National Cinematography Centre (CNC), which is responsible for enforcing regulations in French cinemas. The CNC also calls upon this type of appraisal within the framework of procedures designed to modernise cinemas.
