Collectors are amazing guys : why collect and why collect this rather than that ? The passion that motivates the collector is quite as remarkable. The collection never stops, there is always some item missing

Our friend Bernard TICHIT is a passionate collector and we, especially concerning him; know the reason for this passion. As a great THOMSON professional he has worked for a long time on video cameras, therefore why not collect them?

Three years ago we had learned that a temporary exhibit was being set up for the 25^th anniversary of the THOMSON site in Rennes, and we would have liked to show it to the people in Paris and to the CST members. This project could not be achieved and the cameras returned to their boxes and to their storage location.

We then thought of editing a brochure, i.e. a documentation that would allow a better knowledge and understanding of video acquisition tools since their beginning.

We backed out because of high publishing costs. But the main part of a collector’s personality being stubbornness, we are now able to take you to a virtual visit of the Bernard TICHIT collection on the CST web site.

Our thanks to the SATIS show organization which has accepted to display a few items – about 12 out of 21 – from this collection.

This travel through the history of THOMSON cameras owes a lot to Michel PRIK who spent a major part of his training schedule to make this event happen.

But most of all, all my admiration goes to Bernard TICHIT’s implacable doggedness and extreme availability to put on line the exhibit that the CST unveils for you now.
